COVID-19 Update

Creative Communities Collaborative is monitoring updates regarding the spread of COVID-19 and is taking steps to protect the health and safety of our community, persons supported, volunteers, interns, and staff members.

Given recent alerts from the Centers for Disease Control and Rhode Island governor Gina Raimondo, CCC has cancelled all of our public events and classes until further notice. This includes our Gallery Opening 3|20|20.

Our programming during the day will be open only for adults we support from Looking Upwards from 9am-3pm.  Our staff has taken extra precautions to prevent the spread and limit potential exposure within our community. Here are steps we are taking and steps you can take to minimize risk.

Steps we are taking:

  • We have increased our daily cleaning routine, particularly in common areas and frequently used surfaces.

  • We have made hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and sanitizing spray available throughout the CCC.

  • We have posted guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the RI Department of Health for reference on health best practices.

Steps you can take:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, and be mindful to use best practices when coughing or sneezing (i.e. into your arm).

  • Reduce your travel where possible

  • Whenever possible, avoid close personal contact with people in public. When greeting others, avoid handshakes and hugs.

We kindly ask that you opt to stay home from the COLLABORATIVE if:

  • You are sick or presenting any signs of illness (coughing, fever)

  • You have been knowingly exposed to illness in the past 14 days

  • You have traveled to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, or Japan (in addition to monitoring yourself for symptoms, self-quarantine for 14 days, per Rhode Island Department of Health)

We are monitoring the evolving situation closely and will provide updates should any of these plans change. Please stay safe and act responsibly to support others.

If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your concerns.

Best regards,
The Creative Communities Collaborative
